Fan y Big

Last week, I spent a fantastic week in the Brecon Beacons with my family and friends. Lucy and I have been to the Brecon Beacons many times before and know it well. It’s such a beautiful place, with stunning landscapes and amazing walks.

On Sunday, we decided to take the children and dogs on a four-hour hike around the well-trodden path of Fan y Big. The mountain is 716.6 metres high and is often hiked as part of the Horseshoe Walk. The walk starts with a steep, long climb, but then it’s fairly flat along the ridge for most of the way. You descend at the end and can either continue to the next mountain, Cribyn, or head back to the car park.

The weather was mostly overcast with occasional bursts of sunshine, which created truly epic light. I love shooting when the sky is super moody, as it allows me to play with where the light hits the ground.

The children did an amazing job, and our little Dachshund, Maggie, walked her little legs off!
