De Beers Group is one of the world’s most prominent diamond companies, renowned for its role in the discovery, mining, marketing, and retailing of diamonds. Founded in South Africa, De Beers played a pivotal role in shaping the global diamond industry and famously coined the advertising slogan “A diamond is forever” in the 20th century, which helped solidify the cultural association of diamonds with love and commitment.
De Beers Group employs approximately 20,000 people globally, with a significant presence in Africa, including over 17,000 employees across Botswana, South Africa, and Namibia. In the United Kingdom, De Beers UK Limited employs around 303 individuals.
I was asked to create a suite of images to capture their employees working within the head office in London and their diamond labs just outside London. Workplace photography is something I have done for years and love to capture candid images of people in their environment, showcasing their daily operations, teamwork, and company culture. The photos will be used for marketing, recruitment, internal communications, and branding.
