Last light in Mers-les-Bains
Mers-les-Bains is a charming seaside town in northern France, located along the English Channel in the Somme department of Picardy. Known for its long pebble beach and dramatic chalk cliffs, the town is especially famous for its colorful Belle Époque villas that line the seafront, giving it a distinctive character. Once a popular holiday destination for Parisians in the 19th century, Mers-les-Bains still retains its nostalgic seaside resort atmosphere. Today, visitors enjoy strolling along the esplanade, exploring the nearby cliffs of the Côte d’Albâtre, and experiencing the blend of natural beauty and architectural heritage that makes the town unique.
Whilst on a recent holiday I spent a few evenings capturing the last light and people in the town. Below are some of my favourites from the day, you can view the whole project here.
