Holtzbrinck Publishing

This was a global rebrand shoot for the German family-owned business, Holtzbrinck Publishing, which owns Pan Macmillan books and the German national newspaper Die Zeit.

It was a fantastic project that took me and a video team to Hamburg in Germany to photograph in the prestigious newspaper offices Die Zeit, onto Stuttgart to Holtzbrinck’s head offices, then to New York for Pan Macmillan, and back to London.

It was a busy couple of weeks after first being asked about the shoot, to being commissioned, and then on the shoot in Germany, all within a week!

The brief was to photograph people at work and build an image library for Holtzbrinck’s future marketing. I was shooting around with the video team and also making my own opportunities to ensure we captured the best images possible. The new brand colour was red, so part of the brief was to incorporate red into the images in either an obvious way or more subtly.
